Washington the state of north west provided best facilities in lumbering, fishing and whaling than mining because this region is geographically and climatologically more suitable in primary activities rather than mining. There are less number mining sites too.

    Explanation:

Washington D. C the popular state of America is bounded by Pacific ocean and rocky mountain in either side. It is located in the north west direction of a continent. Rocky mountain provides an ideal condition for lumbering and Pacific ocean is also enriched with planktons that is the main food of fish and the zone of mixture of cold and warm current provide the ideal condition of fishing.

That's why lumbering industries and fishing is more prevalent in the Wasington whereas it is less sound in mining as coal mining sites are less in number there.
