    In the year 1812 in the month of June the United States declared a war against Britain.

    Explanation:

    when American leaders decided to conquer Canada they thought of attacking the most vulnerable part of Canada that is the Upper Canada. The British sea power always protected the Atlantic provinces and the lower part of Canada was protected by the fortress of Quebec. The United States declared war on the Great Britain and thus removing those sailors from the American merchant ships as well as forcing them so that they serve the British navy. Although United Stated had a great advantage for their population but 1200 men were present to fight for the war.
