Why did cooperation turn to conflict between settlers and Native Americans in Virginia? How did William Berkeley try to promote peace? What are some other ways the conflict might have been resolved?

    William Berkley was a Virginia governor. He wanted to make a pledge that the native americans would a large tracts of land (exchange for settlers). He tried to promote peace by preventing war with the Native Americans.
