How is oligarchy different from direct democracy

    Oligarchy would be the "the rule of the few" such as a nation led by Oil tycoons, or a nation led by nobles such as some medieval nations. A direct democracy would mean that citizens are directly involved in the decisions of the government. A true direct democracy would mean that there are essentially no elected officials, as everything is voted on by everyone.
