The war divided the country into two different sections. The ones who wanted wars were hawks, the ones who didn't want war were known as doves. The hawks believed that due to hostility of Vietnamese it urged us into war. They thought US should do whatever it takes to win. On the other hand Doves think that the problem in Vietnam is civil war. In their perspective U. S had no right to interfere in their conflict. They believed American lives and money is being wasted in an unjust war.
