The system of producing goods in homes and making use of their own machineries and equipments as well as doing their own manual labor with family membersis known as cottage industry.

This system was flourishing before the Industrial Revolution came and overtook the production of goods with the use of machineries and producting massive number of goods in a short amount of time.
