What new ideas were introduced with scholasticism

Scholasticism introduced

(a) Acceptance or defense or Catholic dogma, or tradition,

(b) Acceptance of classical philosophy (such as of Aristotle) into biblical theology,

(c) Using dialectical thinking and reasoning to introduce humanistic thinking into biblical interpretation,

(d) creating a distinction between "natural" and "revealed" theology.

(e) The tendency to dispute biblical truth in minute detail

Scholasticism is a philosophy that centers mainly on tradition, i. e. a mindset that is resistant to new ideas. However, it's prevalence in the middle ages/early Renaissance is also directly responsible - through push-back against the philosophy - for humanism, deism and arguably democracy.
