The first American Government was called;
"The Articles of Confederation"
How it started was, America was once ruled by the British. The Declaration of Independence desired to be free of Great Britain. Now this is why we separated from England (Because they abused their power).
The Declaration never did provide a form of government. This later led to the first plan which was 'The Articles of Confederation'
