Christianity started in Judea, which is what we call Israel today. 2000 years ago, Jesus and his disciples started converting the people around Judea. Although oppression was evident at this time, Jesus and his group of disciples were able to convert a lot of people into Christianity. Christianity grew rapidly and spread towards the East. It spread all throughout Aram, Assyria, Phoenicia, Asia Minor, Jordan, and then Egypt. Eventually, it became the religion of Armenia, Georgia, Aksumite Empire, and the Roman Empire. Since then, it reached Europe and other parts of the world. Today, Christianity is considered to be the world’s largest religion.
