The correct answer is - D. Seismic waves damage the sonar that dolphins and whales use to orient themselves underwater.

The seismic waves that are used for oil exploration have devastating effects on the marine life. On closer distance they are able to kill and seriously injure the animals that use sonar, like the dolphins and whales, but also the invertebrates, sea turtles, and lot of species of fish.

On longer distance, they might not cause sudden death, but will for sure cause injuries to lot of marine species, injuries that will lead to death soon after as they will not be able to function properly.
