    Fulgencio Batista (1901-1973), was a Cuban dictator that acted as President from Cuba twice. In 1940 to 1944, and in 1952-1959. After his first term, which was successful, he lived in Florida were he made US allies, and came back to Cuba in 1952 where he made a coup and returned to power. This time Batista returned as a dictator, and many didn't like him because they didn't approved that the had US allies and that they could influence in Cuban economy. Cubans started to protest, and they overthrew Batista, and placed Fidel Castro as their new leader.
