    The answer is Tammany hall. It is also called the Society of St. Tammany or the Columbian Order. This was a New York town political organization based in 1786 and included on may also 12, 1789, because the Tammany Society. The name came from a pre-Revolutionary association named after Tammanend, a wise and benevolent Delaware.
