What is nativism, and how did it relate to immigration policy in the 1920s?

Nativism refers to a person's native land where he is born and brought up. When people from other places come here they are called as immigrants.

Immigrants are peope who are from different places. They come to the native people's land and try to live with them. Whereas on the other hand, the native people feel that these immigrants may destroy their home land and bring in a lot of troubles for them.

They have a great fear that this is not a correct way to occupy someone else's land and establish a power over there. All their comforts and rights are bieng deploited by these immigrants.
