Explain how Muhammad Ali Jinnah's and Jawaharlal Nehru's perspectives on the proposed partition are different

The opinions are different in the fact that Ali Jinnah argues that partition and separation would be beneficial to Hindus and Muslims because they are so vastly different. Jawaharlal Nehru, however, believes that partition would disrupt both cultures as many live as minorities in some areas, and it would hurt the Muslims economically.

Gandhi's reaction to the Lahore Resolution was muted; he called it "baffling", but told his disciples that Muslims, in common with other people of India, had the right to self-determination. Leaders of the Congress were more vocal; Jawaharlal Nehru referred to Lahore as "Jinnah's fantastic proposals" while Chakravarti Rajagopalachari deemed Jinnah's views on partition "a sign of a diseased mentality".
