I will fan and medal Why would you expect most people in Canada to settle near the United States border? Because northern Canada is much colder and less habitable. Many Canadians work at jobs on American farms. Cost of living is lower closer to the United States border. Canada taxes citizens in southern provinces less than citizens living in northern Canada.
