    Archaeologists have found traces of fresh, autumn fruits in the ashes, as well as the fact that some victims wore thicker clothes rather than what was expected for the Mediterranean summer. This is important to stress, because for a long time historians and archaeologists believed that city was destroyed in August of 79. What is known now is that it happened in October of 79.
