The Minoan civilization has been identified as a melting pot of cultures by archaeologists because C. archaelogists have been unable to determine a definite culture due to confusion caused by the archaeological evidence found. They found a lot of different evidence from various cultures in these locations where the Minoan civilization lived, which prevented them from saying which culture they really originate from. Thus their decision was to name the civilization a melting pot given that it wasn't created from only one civilization, but rather a lot of them.
