    1. Thomas Babington Macaulay. Thomas Babington Macaulay was the one who started English education in India. English education Act was passed in 1835.

    Adam William was born on Nov 1,1726 a British minister, missionary, abolUnionist and Harvard professor. He translated the New Testament in Bengali together with Ram Roy Mohan. Adam lost interest in the Baptist mission but not India, and with Roy and a mix of local and European formed the Calcutta Unitarian Society.

    3. William Jones studied Arabic, Hebrew, French and Italian.
