2. Why did Americans build so many factories during the War of 1812?

I forgot the name of the Act, but it was made America had to manufacture their own goods because they nothing to trade with other countries and their goods, these factories started blooming everywhere in hopes to make more money and be able to provide sometimes armies with the products of need.
