There is Swanson County created in 1910 but dissolved in 1911. It was dissolved because it was formed by local politicians irrespective of the will of the inhabitants of the areas that comprised the counties. They legally challenged its creation and it was declared invalid by the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Then there is Day County, which was a county formed when Oklahoma was a territory. After Oklahoma became a state it was divided between the newly-formed Roger Mills County and Ellis County.
