The two major areas of activities are farming and fishing. They play a major part in their economy, resulting in jobs, local food and fiber production and economic activity in hundreds of communities. The Northeast has a strong agricultural diversity, ranging from dairy to commercial fishing, fruit, vegetable, forest products, nursery and greenhouse.
