In the mid-2000s, as a result of the Afghan people's anger toward the United States, the Taliban began to regain control over some areas. more citizens began to vote in democratic elections. more freedoms were given to the women of Afghanistan. the rebuilding process in the country began to accelerate.

    During the 2000s, the middle eastern people did not really like the United States because of their war on terror policies, so they started getting more and more radicalized. This enabled the Taliban to take back some of the land that they had lost previously and to get more support from the people who wanted to be free from the US.
