What was one difference between Eastern and Western Bloc nations during the Cold War?

    There were starking differences between the two blocs. Western European nations enjoyed a more prosperous economy, were more modern technologically and had better living standards. They also had free, democratic political systems that were different from the authoritarian, undemocratic, one-party communist systems existing in Eastern Europe
