The Shiites believed that the Umayyads: should not be in power
The shiites believed that those should be in power should came from the lineagae of the phropet (Arabic ethnicity is a must). Umayyads on the other hands believes that those in power should be the one that best qualified for the position and most of the Umayyads came drom Turkish lineage.
