    Explanation:

    Stephen Foster wrote "De Camptown Races," in 1850 for one of the most famous minstrel troupe of that time which was founded by Edwin P. Christy.

    He was born in 1826 and become famous composer until then.

    The music was published in February 1850 by F. D. Benteen of Baltimore, Maryland, and Benteen published a remastered version with addition of the guitar in 1852 under the title "The Celebrated Ethiopian Song/Camptown Races".

    It become one of the most. popular 'Americana' songs, a minstrel music that was the most popular in American music of 19th century.

    The song also became associated with the California Gold Rush of 1849, as the forty-niners adapted a parodied version as their unofficial anthem. In 1850, Foster composed "De Camptown Races," which was introduced by the Christy Minstrels (founded by Edwin P. Christy), the most famous minstrel troupe of the day.
