The Seneca falls convention was organised in July 1848 in Seneca Falls and was the first convention in US where the right to vote for women was discussed. It started women's suffrage movement. The convention was organised by Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. The convention passed 12 resolutions and a document titled Declaration of Sentiments, both were related to women's right.

The ninth resolution demanded that women should be given the right to vote.
