Describe Kemal Atatürk. How did he come to power? What kind of government did he set up? Was his government popular?

Kemal Ataturk was Turkish person that was born, raised, and educated in the than province of Macedonia in the Ottoman Empire. Most of his life revolved around Solun (Thessaloniki), Bitola, and Resen. He got proper education, both as a scholar and as a soldier. He had a vision that the Ottoman Empire should be reformed, modernized, and that the days of the monarchs and their rule should be part of the past. Little by little he managed to create an organization which quickly became very popular and constantly was gaining new members and support. Eventually he led a revolution, which was successful, and he got to be the leader of the country. He immediately changed the structure of the government, gave his best to industrialize and modernize the country, as well as promoting and implementing democracy gradually. The Turkish people loved him, and still do. The only black dot in his resume as a great visionary and politician is that he was the one that ordered the genocide of the Armenian people, destroying large portion of their population.
