    The Restoration period was triggered by the "Enlightenment", which was a philosophical movement that focused on the use of reasoning. Many developments came in the fields of science and politics. The creation of Liberalism, which was a political system that favored free market and the least interference possible by the government, came in this period. This, in addition to the protestant movement, were the main drivers behind the American Revolutionary War. The Wounded Knee Massacre was an incident in which occurred in 1890 in the Lakota Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. After an, a series of misunderstandings, the US 7th Cavalry led by Samuel Whiteside, opened fire on Indian Chief Spotted Elk's group of Miniconjou.
