Political Parties - During the 19th century, when it was finally decided that voting will be done by pen and paper, instead of orally expressing support to one or the other political party, these voting ballots were to be printed by the political parties themselves. This led to a lot of corruption and lack of transparency in the voting process, as the parties had the freedom to add or drop off names according to their convenience (behind close doors of course). This also led to a lot of chaos at the polling places.
