The basis of Iranian traditional music is the dastgahs; it's wider than the makam and maqam found in Turkish and Arab music, respectively. These are all set of rules for making music. In Persian music you find that beside major and minor seconds in consecutive intervals, there are three-quarter notes. In Arab music, intervals are divided with quarter-tones.
