Causes of Treaty of Versailles: The demand for reparations from Germany had to be given a written form. Germany's will to take a revenge had to be constrained and it had to be restricted from having a functional armed force. Germany had to be kept under the dominance of the League of nations so that it does not dare to undertake more expansionary activities. Effects of Treaty of Versailles: Germany was humiliated and was made to believe that it was solely responsible for the war to begin which Germany denied. Germany felt that it was being a forced victim of the treaty as it was not able to defend itself against the leaders of the allied forces. Germany suffered an economic collapse after paying the allied forces according to the treaty.
