The greeks believe that you go to hades or the underworld after death. There, you are given a punishment to "live" out for the rest of eternity. Either that or you go to a limbo-ish nothingness.

The hindu culture believes in reincarnation or rebirth. Here, what you do in your past lives effects who you are today. For example, if I was a killer in this life, in my next life, I might be a slug, or a really ugly beggar
