Communism is an ideology where one believes that society will/should advance to a classless and stateless socialist society.

Democracy is a political practice where the society makes decisions based on majority vote. There are representative democracies, where the public elects officials to make decisions, then there are direct democracies where the public votes on the policies directly.

Communism needs democracy to manifest I believe, but are they are not ideas that can be compared or contrasted because they are on way different wave lengths ... for lack of a better term.
