Pretend you are a Native American Chief whose family has been living in Texas for many generations. You have just learned that the Mexican government has decided to offer 640 acres of land to settlers. Native Americans do not qualify as settlers. Prepare a speech for your tribe, describing what has occurred, and your vision of how this will affect the tribe in the future.

Try starting the speech as it says, presenting the message to your tribe. I have Cherokee in my veins so you could use a tribe like that for your example. "Dear___People", or "My fellow tribemates".

Carry it on from there by saying something like "I come to you with unpleasant news." - - "Our people have been denied our own land in the most unthinkable way, and it is time to take action."
