What are some of the benefits of using wind as an alternative energy source?

Wind is a renewable resource, unlike fossil fuels and nucelear fuel. It may be harder to have a constant supply of energy for houses because wind can be somewhat unpredictable (i. e. somedays are windy than others) But it's better for the environment.
