    In "The Leg of Lamb" you can find plenty of evidence of the kind of relationship Mary and Patrick Malony had. Two examples of her feelings are:

    "She loved to feel the presence of this man and the male warmth that came out of him when they were together" (before she killed him).

    "All the old love for him come back to her, and she ran over to him, knelt down beside him, and began to cry hard. It was easy. No acting was necessary" (After she killed him)
