The proof would be the southern states' efforts to prevent black people from voting during the new south era.

During the new south era, the southern states require voters to have a certain level of income and require the the voters to pass a literacy test before they are allowed to vote.

Since most black people just got out from slavery, it was almost impossible for them to pass these requirements. So they weren't able to elect the representatives that were willing to fight for their cause.

The efforts of the southern states to prevent black people from voting during the period of the new south era are the evidence.

    Explanation:

During this era of the southerners, the voters were required to have different levels for income. The voters were also required to a test to gauge their knowledge test before voting.

It, however, happened that many black people had been freed from slavery, and it was difficult for them to pass the requirements successfully. So it is due to this that they were not supposed to vote since they taught that they would elect leaders who were not willing to fight for their cause.
