Why was there tension between france and germany in the early 1900s?

    There were a number of factors that led to the rising tension between Germany and France in the early 1900 including an arms race and tension in eastern Europe. France had a large empire and felt threatened by Germany which was rapidly industrializing and wanted to build up a navy and empire to challenge other countries.
