How did trade affect the culture of East African city-states? 1. trade caused East Africa's city-states to become more cultural isolated from one another. 2. Trade brought less and less cultural diffusion to the city-states as time wore on. 3. Trade forced many city-states to adopt strict policies to inhibit the spread of religion and absorption of languages. 4. Trade attracted people from many regions to the city-states, bringing more cultural diffusion.
