    The factor that contributed the most to the unpopularity of the Vietnam War in the United States was the losses both sides suffered.

    The reason behind this answer is that in this stage of time the young population of the united states was fighting to break the rule of behavior the older generation wanted to pass on them. They wanted love and peace for everything. They fought inequality in the U. S. but they also fought against global problems in the U. S. they also fought to stop the Vietnam war because even though the U. S. was at the cold war with the Soviet Union. Vietnam was the only communist country that followed that form of government. They didn't attack the U. S. or act against them. The U. S. intervened because they wanted to stop the spread of communism. Also, both sides lost too many people or power.
