What were the causes and impact of the Ford Hunger March in Dearborn, Michigan, in 1932?

Ford Hunger march or also known as Ford massacre was a demonstration by the unemployed workers which resulted in police firing and a total of five people were killed and 60 were injured. The march was a result of unemployment caused during the Economic Depression. The impact of this involved historic judgment by grand jury which was criticized for its soft treatment to the police and Ford company guards.

In 1931, many companies cut wages and laid off workers, even Ford ended up laying off 2/3 of their workers. Around 50 protesters died from when the guards and police opened fire. Before this, the use of tear gas and firefighters hoses were used while the protesters threw dirt and rocks.
