What is one reason legislative gridlock has become a major problem in the last few years?

    Legislative gridlock occurs when the number of bills that are passed is low compared to the agenda of the legislature. Therefore, it is hard to pass laws that would satisfy what people really need. Gridlock is also called deadlock and political stalemate.
