    Law and order.

    Explanation:

The Democratic National Convention in 1968 was a very complex affair. Tens of thousands of protesters (mainly protesting the Vietnam War) battled police in the streets. At the same time, the Democratic Party, while trying to agree on a position regarding the war in Vietnam, argued intensely. This led to the fracturing of the "Cold War consensus" that had existed since the end of World War II. The delegates argued so intensely that there was a breakdown in law and order, and delegates and reporters were beaten and knocked to the ground.
