These writers wrote rather negatively about England and the rest of the world. Orwell talks about how he feels pity for the Burmese people who were oppressed by England. During this era, England was colonizing and forcing British Imperialism on different countries.

Some ways they present the relationship between England and the rest of the world are:

    - a heartless, ruthless empire attempting to gain territory, and keep making an effort to widen their conquest of power

-, a dedicated country attempting to protect and nurture it's charges, (by educating the countries under their colony)

    - a broken system that has long outlived it's time. Probably. Depends on whether you were on their good or bad side.
