What measures did the Radical Republicans take to keep President Johnson and the Supreme Court from interfering with their plans?

    In 1867 their was two laws passed: First, Tenure of Office Act which forbade president to remove civil officials without senate's consent. Secondly, Command of Army Act which prohibited president from issuing military orders except through commanding general of army (Grant) whose headquarters were to be in Washington and who could not be relieved or assigned elsewhere without senate's consent
