The Vietcong, also known as the National Liberation Front, was a mass political organization in South Vietnam and Cambodia with its own army - the People's Liberation Armed Forces of South Vietnam - fought against the United States and South Vietnamese governments during the Vietnam War, eventually emerging on the winning side.

The Vietcong is the People's Liberation Armed Forces more popularly known as the Viet Cong was the military arm of the National Liberation Front. Established at the end of 1960 the VC was created by the North Vietnamese communists to escalate the armed struggle in South Vietnam.
