What does it mean to call hellenistic jewish literature "apologetic"?

    Apologetics in Judaism is that literature which endeavors to defend Jews. The general apologetic trend in Jewish-Hellenistic literature, specific apologetic. The old Aramaic versions, and execrated "all who called them the sons of God" which by a play on the Hebrew words was interpreted.
