    For the purposes of this discussion a Principle is defined as a fundamental truth that serves as the basis for a system of belief or behaviour.

    A preamble is an introductory statement and a topic sentence is a sentence that expresses the main idea of the paragraph in which it occurs.

    If we assume that the topic for this discussion is "What is the purpose of a K9 Search and Rescue dog"An example of a topic sentence is:

    The purpose of a K9 Search and Rescue dog is to find people who, are lost or have disappeared in a mountainous region.
