Stereotypes are general assumptions used to label a certain group or race or ethnic background. It is important that you don't rely solely on stereotypes to understand situations/people because stereotypes can give false senses of acknowledgement and can be demeaning to an individual. Stereotypes do also not define a person for who they are.
