In a feudal system, who has the greatest authority?

    The King has the greatest authority in a feudal system. He would own most of the land in the country and had the right to sell off land to the Barons, which were also very powerful and owned half of the land as well. In exchange, the king would get back military power and also loyalty from the Barons.
